Philippine Weather Update - Storm Marce - October 3, 2012

At 4:00 p.m. today, the Tropical Storm "MARCE" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 240 km West of Iba, Zambales (15.4°N, 117.6°E) with maximum winds of 85 kph near the center center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is forecast to move South Southeast slowly.

Bataan and Zambales will experience rains with gusty winds. Metro Manila and the regions of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and Bicol will be cloudy with occasional moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon and the whole Visayas have occasional light to moderate rains or thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to East will prevail over Extreme Northern Luzon and coming from the Southwest to South over the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest to West with slight to moderate seas.
