Philippine Weather Update - Typhoon Lawin - September 29, 2012

At 4:00 a.m. today, 29 September 2012, the eye of Typhoon "LAWIN" was located based on satellite and surface data at 610 km Northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (25.5°N,126.3°E).


The regions of Metro Manila, Ilocos, Cordillera,
Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON and the whole of Mindanao will be cloudy with occasional light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Northeast to East will prevail over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Cagayan, Abra, Kalinga and Isabela and coming from the Southwest to West if the rest of Luzon and the coastal water along these areas will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Southwest tot West with slight to moderate seas.
