PHNOM PENH - Combined pathogens caused the mysterious illness in Cambodia where 64 children were killed.
Among the pathogens found in the samples tested are the enterovirus 71, streptococcus suis bacteria and dengue.
Based on the medical doctors who are familiar in the conduct of examination, they reported incorrect use of steroids, which can affect the immune system, and that was aggravated the disease in most of the victims.
Survey results showed that they used steroids to those patients who are taken to hospital.
Earlier, Dr . Beat Richner of Kantha bopha hospitals reported that the victims has encephalitis or inflammation of the brain through these strange diseases, high fever and weakened lungs. - (CNN)
